After teaching music for over 32 years, I have seen and heard many common problems that learners run into. Knowing that not "one-size-fits-all." I have quite a large teaching toolbox to help adult learners succeed. Grass roots piano YouTube channel has grown over 20,000 subscribers within two years! I am thrilled to meet so many wonderful adult learners from around the world!
I specialize in helping adults, learn and fall in love with the piano, but my teaching experience is from age 5 all the way up to 85! I have a BFA and music, education and an MFA and percussion.Ā
I live in the north east USA with my wife, Bridget, my 10-year-old son Myles and my besties Pepper and Frankie! (Pepper and Frankie are rescue dogs. Breed: herding mixes.Ā

My method for learning how to play piano is simple and easy to follow. It combines everything you need to to know to gain the skills that you were rely on for years ahead. There are no gimmicks! I believe in a strong foundation as that will set you up for success.
